Fine dining at its best!.
I was in town for business and took our clients here for dinner. What a wonderful experience. The staff was superb and made us all feel comfortable. I went out on a limb and tried the venison. It was delicious! Our clients felt the same way about their meals. I would have to say this is the best restaurant that I have been to in the area. Well done!

Exceptional refined preparations.
St. Johns has the best food we've had in Chattanooga. The preparations are creative, fresh, and refined. The beet and orange salad was delightful as were the Halibut and Hawaiian Sea Bass specials. Our waiter (Joe) was obviously a foodie and very knowlegeable. He gave us several outstanding suggestions. Dessert (carrot cake souffle) was delicious-much like an English steamed pudding. We travel a lot with work so were pleased to find such a treasure in an unexpected city.

A special place for special occasions.
Our 48th anniversary, read a lot reviews and was not disappointed, Our waiter John was on top explaining the menu offering advise on dishes. He brought us special treats knowing this was our first time and special occasion. The food was out standing, truly fantastic presentations, impeccable service. We had wine, cocktail, a great martini, coffee to finish it off. We had a five course meal with all the trimmings and more. We spent about three hours, on a Thursday starting at 6pm.
The staff all not to mention the chef were wonderful.
This was a unique and fantastic fine dinning experience

5 Start Cusine.
My husband took me to St.John's for a late Valentines Day. I just had a baby so we also brought her along. The service was impeccable. The food was wonderful. Now, my husband and I are 24 and many people have commented that we look too young to have a baby. They were very nice when we ordered wine as not to make us feel uncomfortable. The best part, my little girl slept through the whole dinner!

An experience to be had by all.
One of the greatest restaurants I have ever dined in. It compares to any I've visited in New York, California, Chicago and Europe. Creative, fresh, beautiful: all three words describe both the food and decor. It is more than dinner. It is an experience.

Good food, good service..
The food here is usually good, it just comes in small portions. This fact is well known around town. Good food, but not good value.

Impeccable Service.
This restaurant compares with big city dining. I've dined all over the world and I have only had service such as this in Lisbon and Barcelona. Our server didn't need to give his name as in any fine establishment because there is no need to call for his attention, the young man instinctively knew when to approach our table. His knowledge of the preparation of the dishes on the menu was equally superb, almost as he was the chef himself. The dishes were timed perfectly, not too fast nor too slow.

A taste of NYC.
So interesting and nice to find that the chef of this lovely restaurant came from one of our beloved restaurants,Gramercy Tavern, which we frequent at home in New York City. The food is superb and the great thing that both my husband and I noticed is that the portions are bigger in Chattanooga(must be the lower cost of operation versus NY). The kobe steak was 'melt in our mouth' wonderful. We will be back to this restaurant every trip to Chattanooga when visitng our parents.

Overwhelmingly Impressive!!!!.
If you have a need for a special occassion restaurant in Chattanooga, and you're just not sure where to go, RUN (don't walk) to St. John's. You WILL NOT be disappointed. If you just can't believe that there would be an excellent gourmet dining experience in Chattanooga, please believe me! This restaurant would hold it's own in bigger cities like Atlanta and would blow the others out of the water in Nashville. Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised - the wine list was well representative of vaying appellations, the menu had me indecisive, the service was attentive, but the food and presentation was everything fine dining should be. Fresh fish, unexpected cuts of meat, perfect desserts...
