The best sushi place in Chattanooga
by everythingsushi
Best sushi we have found in Chattanooga. We often order the chirashi and a dolphin roll, which gets you soup, salad, a nice variety of sashimi for about 30 bucks total. LOTS of other things to try, too. My wife and I have been to all of the other 'top' sushi restaurants in Chattanooga, and we keep coming back here year after year. There's outdoor seating overlooking downtown streets in the warmer months, and a few inside window seats give the same view. Staff has always been friendly, but not always sushi experts. Yoshi from Memphis does a great job with the sushi, btw.
- Pros: Sushi consistently better than the other places
- Cons: Our favorite waiter/waitress couple left for other jobs
The horrible taste is still in my mouth months later!

We visited Sekisui after purchasing the '25 dollar coupon' for ten dollars, on a night that was supposed to be a relaxing date evening between me and my boyfriend. I am a sushi fanatic, so I was very excited. Unfortunately, we were greeted with rude servers who took their time doing anything and evertyhing, even though the restaurant was deserted - there were only two other tables seated. I ordered a roll of sushi that was not fresh and tasted extremely fishy. I also ordered a chicken skewer that was tough dark meat with so much fat I couldn't eat it. My boyfriend ordered a lobster tail that came out on a whimpy piece of old lettuce. The meat of the lobster tail was dry and looked shrivelled. The lobster tasted even fishier than the sushi. In disguist, he ordered some steak that was equally as terrible. The server and sushi chef frequently stared at our table (probably because they knew how terrible our food was and wanted to see whether or not we would eat it lol) and we ended up not eating anything we ordered. I honestly want to gag every time i think about biting into that fishy lobster. Please spare yourselves a huge pocketfull of money and pain and DO NOT visit this horrible restaurant!
- Pros: I can't think of anything positive
- Cons: Terrible slow service, very fishy tasting sushi and food,
Do not waste your time or money.

Bad food, worse service. Truly one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. I cannot figure out why people go there. Anyone who tells me they like this place looses all credibility in matters of cuisine to me.
- Cons: food, service, value
