Ruby Falls hours of operations are Saturday through Friday from 8:00am to 8:00pm EST. Preference is given to employees who are available on the weekends and major holidays.
An hour-long spelunking tour beneath Lookout Mountain culminates at the fanciful 145-foot waterfall.. The Cave While attempting to excavate a cave within Lookout Mountain, explorers discovered the stalagmite-filled cavern that leads to Ruby Falls. Since the 1930s, millions have taken the
hour-long tour, squeezing through stone pathways littered with signs pointing out stones resembling everything from bacon to a donkey's ass to an elephant's foot. The cave climax is, of course, the falls. Once visitors approach the main attraction, all lights go out and a booming voice introduces Ruby Falls as if it were the latest rock star. Lights flash in sync to a soundtrack of violins--creating a surreal, but beautiful, experience.
