In response to "drajput". Man, you are 100% incorrect. You must be associated with one of the other Indian restaurants in town, or something, because your assessment is ludicrous. I have been to Indian restaurants in all four large cities in Tennessee, and to preform some sort of a pseudo-scientific test, my friend and I ordered our favorite dishes in all of these restaurants, making sure to order the same thing every time. I must tell you, compared to India Mahal, none of those other Indian restaurants even came close! One of the worst was Sitar in downtown Chattanooga. (Along with another one of note in Nashville, but that's a story for another day) Either way, India Mahal is the best Indian restaurant in Tennessee! Also, the service amazing. The perfect combination. I live in downtown, essentially walking distance to Sitar, but I drive all the way out to Brainerd road to India Mahal, instead.

Very bad food. I just hate this restaurant. A big disgrace to Indians and Indian restaurants in the US.

Their service is reasonable, but the food is pathetic.

I saw 4/5 rating here, so thought of trying it. All the reviews here have inflated India Mahal's food quality. I would give it only one star.

Best Indian Restaurant in Chattanooga. We've tried the others, but India Mahal is by far the best Indian restuarant in town for food and service. It's the family's favorite place to eat.

My favorite restaurant in Chattanooga. When I went to school in TN, once a week I would eat at "the mahal" and I never grew tired of the food. The lunch buffet is one of the best things I have come across in my short years on this earth. Nothing makes me happier than a mango lassi, dal makni, saag, and chicken tandoori (my mouth is actually watering). I had their masala tea once and had to buy the spices to try to make it myself. The owner is very nice and will always shake your hand to welcome you. The restaurant is just a happy place and I seriously miss going there with my friends and seeing if we could each eat three full plates and have room for kheer.

Exceptional.. Great prices- cheapest price for the most variety buffet for lunch, and you get a large portion for dinner plates for your price. Great Service- Your glass will never be empty. Water is refilled constantly. The manager of the restaurant personally greets everyone at their table and even shakes your hand. Everyone is extremely friendly and polite. Great hours- They are open earlyish for lunch at 11:30, and do not close for dinner until 10.

Best Indian Cuisine Anywhere Hands Down!!!. My wife and I are very big fans of Indian cuisine. We have both traveled the world and tried Indian restaurants the world over. Some we liked better than others but hands down this is the absolute best. I have often driven hours just to have dinner at India Mahal. The food is very pleasing to the palate and the staff very warm and welcoming. The ambience is cozy mixed with a dash of romance.

My favorite restaurant in all of Chattanooga!. I often say that a good way to tell what is your favorite is to think of which restaurant would make you most sad if it closed. I, for one, would cry my eyes out of India Mahal ever closed. The food is phenomenal. It lacks a little in variety on the buffet, but the dishes they do have are so good I could eat them every day! The dinner menu is very extensive -- it's usually hard to pick just one! Try the lunch buffet, it's always good!

good food. Interesting selection of food. Usually not crowded and service is good. worth trying; food is not as hot as in some indian restaurants
