Disappointed long time customer. My mother and I stopped in to Country Place on Saturday during our afternoon excursions because we wanted breakfast for lunch and usually always got decent food. We had to be moved from our first table because part of the table literally fell on me when we sat down. I got the country fried steak with mashed potatoes and fried apples(a safe choice). My mother ordered the two egg breakfast that CAME WITH gravy & grits and toast and bacon, she ADDED biscuits(to go with the gravy that she was supposed to get) and hash browns as extras, not substituted. We got our food in a decent amount of time. The waitress left off a piece of toast and said she would be back with it, and never was. We flagged her down again(tried two times too and got ignored) and asked where the gravy & grits that came with the meal were. She said she had substituted the grits and gravy for the hash browns. My mom explained that she wanted extra hash browns and not to substitute. The waitress acted like it was the end of the world and said she would be back. She never returned and we went to the front to pay for the check. The cashier grabbed the manager when we asked to get the check fixed because my mother did not get two items of her order. The manager gave us the run around for at least 8 to 10 minutes trying to convince my mother she ordered incorrectly. Which is not the case because my mother asked specifically for all of the food and not to substitute. In conclusion, decent food, terrible service from the wait staff and the management. If you go pray you get a competent waitress and you don't have to deal with the management because they don't care if you had a good meal, they just want your money. Will not be going back.
