Tips for Hair Benders Internationale

This is my favorite salon in chattanooga. Always professional and they get my hair right every time. They are also more affordable than some of those downtown salons and when I call I actually get to speak to a friendly receptionist who books my appointment right away. It seems like most salons around here when you call your hair dresser you have to call or text your hair dresser and wait for them to call or text you back. --How unprofessional is that? Hair Benders truly is best of the best and they consistantly show how a professional business should operate.

Horrible experience here, and I went THREE TIMES before I made judgement. Hairdresser did not listen to what I wanted, put a few strands of color in my hair, chopped over 6 inches off, and sent me out the door. $200 later I got home and was shocked as to what just happened. They think they "rule" Chattanooga when it comes to salons so they have a very snobby "were the best don't question our work" attitude. I've been to THREE different stylists and they are all clueless. Don't go to MEGAN! She was a nice girl but I wouldn't trust a single strand of my hair with her. My color is chunky, has obvious lines in it forcing me to part my hair a certain way. My cut is nothing I couldn't get at a cheap salon. I'm going to Atlanta from now on to do my hair, If HBI is the "best in Chattanooga" then I guess I have to go out of state.

I have been to Hair Benders twice and I feel it is very important for me to share my experience. My first visit I saw Voula and we talked about what color would be best for me. She gave great input and advice. I really thought I was in for a treat because I had heard so many great things about Hair Benders. When Voula started my color she was very involved with everyone else in the room. After she worked on me for a little while another woman took over, then another, and then another. I thought it was odd that so many people were doing my color, but I just thought maybe she is overwhelmed and busy so I dismissed the concern. After the color, my hair was washed and trimmed and somewhat styled. On to my second visit... I decided to come back because I honestly did like the color I got. When I arrived I waited about forty minutes to be seen and when Voula was finally notified she had another client she just brushed me off and finally got to me. When I was finally seen, Voula started to color my hair. The same process started again. By the time my foils were completed, FIVE people had been working on my color. The whole time Voula would shout to whomever was available "Hey, come and help me." Perhaps I am wrong, but I do not think FIVE people should touch the same color, need I explain why.... After my hair was washed I sat in the chair for about fifteen minutes before Voula came back. When I asked for more layers and a different cut, she refused to cut it like I wanted. After a few snips of hair she disappeared once again. After she finally found someone to "dry and style" my hair I never saw again. The woman who attempted to style my hair smelled as if she came straight from a bar. After she attempted to style it, I was on my way. By the time my hair was finished I had EIGHT people that had been working on my hair. This is unacceptable. Even if a salon is busy eight RANDOM people should NEVER be working on the same person. I was so upset by my visit that I paid and hurried to my car. My color was adequate, my cut was nonexistent, and the service was awful. Needless to say I will not be returning to Hair Benders. I am not warning others to stay away because I have read raving reviews about them. However, I feel it was necessary to share my experience with others. If you enjoy a very busy atmosphere, experiencing many different people touching your hair like it is a team thing than this is the place for you! Might I add, I was personally insulted about the jewelry I was wearing too. Good luck!

The BLONDE Authority. I've been going to Hair Benders for over 5 years now. They get my BLONDE right every time. I am a heavy foil high blonde and I wear my hair medium length. They do this "in between touch up" every other time I visit so I don't have to do foils everytime I come in. This is great because the inbetween touch up is only $30. I have very thick hair - and they get my cut right every time too. I am so thankful for Jamie at Hair Benders. He is the best stylist ever!!!

THank you HBI for getting my BLONDE PERFECT everytime. -

THANK YOU for putting me onto the right stylist. My hair is a challenge for any stylist: fine, thin, white...not much to work with. I called and told the receptionist my dilemma. She recommended Shasta. THANK YOU for putting me onto the right stylist. I have been happy since and drive 90 minutes just for a hair cut from Shasta.

Absolutely Love Hairbenders!. I absolutely LOVE Hairbenders!!!! I have been going to Michael for haircuts for somewhere close to 10 years. Even though I have moved more than 60 miles away, there is nowhere I would rather spend a Saturday afternoon than with Michael at Hairbenders !!!!

Hairbenders. I have been going to Hairbenders for a while now. I was willing to pay the price to have highly trained professionals working on my hair. However, I recently had a really bad experience and feel that I should share this experience. I am still in a bit of shock that I was at the salon for about 5 hours and left with the worst color I have ever had and the worst part "fried hair." I am used to it taking a long time to get my hair done and I never complain because I don't want to be difficult. However, I can't stop thinking about the fact that I paid close to $300.00 to get my hair done and then had to pay close to the same amount at a salon in Atlanta to have it fixed. Typically, I am pretty happy with my hair even though it takes forever. The stylist I went to is always extremely overbooked and considered one of the best there. She even told me that day that she was running behind and was doing 6 other clients. So this means, the assistant will be working on your hair most of the time. I thought well I guess she is used to being overbooked and she already has foils in my hair so the worst thing that will likely happen is that I will be here even longer than normal. I never would have thought I would leave there with fried hair. I wish she had called and said I'm really behind today, could we reschedule. Yeah, I may have been disappointed but at the same time it would have been worth rescheduling considering what happened. Plus she knows that I am easy going and would have been okay with waiting. I think this stylist is really good, but is so overbooked that her work is starting to show this. I know it's just hair, but I have really thick hair and have worked hard and spent a lot of money on keratin treatments to keep it healthy. Actually, I had the brazilian blowout on this day as well. I wouldn't be too upset if it was just the color because that can be corrected. But the only option for scorched hair is to cut it off. No amount of treatments will fix that. So now my shortest layer is almost eye level and I still have some fried areas. I could only cut so much off without looking like a peacock. I did go back in the next day after this happened and she put a few more highlights in my hair. I showed her the area where my hair was fried and she replied, "That’s probably just where we didn't get it all the way dry, and then used the flat iron on it." Well at least she was honest, but I truly couldn’t believe how nonchalant she was about the whole thing. An apology, at least, would have been nice. You would think she would have said something like, I'm sorry this happened and we will work on getting your hair back in good condition. Plus for someone that comes in and drops a minimum of $200.00 every 6 weeks, I would have offered them their money back. This would have made me feel more comfortable and kept me coming back. I would be mortified if I had literally burnt someone's hair. I was so devastated that I just left and couldn't really process what had just happened. I'm not a very confrontational person so I just left it alone. Plus I don't think it would have made a difference anyway considering the response I was given when I went back in. This isn't something I can lie about; I actually have visible evidence and showed the stylist this. My suggestion would be to ask for someone who doesn't take too many clients at once especially if you have a lot of hair that takes time. Lesson learned after spending a total of $600.00 in 3 weeks. I will be dealing with the results of what happened for a while until I can grow my hair out enough to cut the rest of the fried parts off. Plus, I am now going to be driving to Atlanta every 6 weeks to get my hair done because I really don't know where to go in Chattanooga.

Hairbenders. I was excited to have my hair done about a month ago at Hair benders in Chattanooga. This was a Christmas present from my husband. I've always heard great things about it, so I decided to bite the bullet and spend the outragious amount of money to get my hair long layered and dyed.

I pick a photo from a magazine and the stylist said it was very possible for me and it would look great! My hair had not been cut in 3 years and I told her I wanted to keep my length, so just take off about 2 inches. I made sure to tell her that about 3 times.

Well, long story short, when she was done, my hair was up to my shoulders and almost apple red! My hair was originally down to the middle of my back! And I liked it that way.

Needless to say, I spend almost $200 and hated the end result. It was a bad experience and it taught me a lesson that it doesn't matter how much you pay, they can still screw it up.
