Great Potential Obvious Lack of Managment. This rink has great potential for becoming a fun, family friendly environment, but lacks the proper management. Being an avid skater myself, I have several years experience with roller skating rinks as well as staffing and managing rinks in eastern NC. Hamilton Skate Place has a great set up given the space they have to work with, but there was an obvious lack of management. Only half of the staff working on this Saturday night had any kind of uniform on, the dress code (listed on their website) was not complied with.

Half the patrons had hats on while they were skating; while another removed his shirt entirely. There was a young girl carrying a baby while she was skating, people with no skates on were just walking on the skate floor, and others would just stop and talk on the skate floor. There was definitely a need for an employee to be on the skate floor trying to keep things safe for everyone to be able to enjoy.

The owner should be ashamed at how dirty the skate surface was. I started skating with smooth, clean (orange) wheels and an hour later they were black! The floor obviously hadn’t been cleaned in quite some time. Very disappointing, I will not be returning.
