The anti-chain pizza
by geeyouretall at Citysearch
I found Lupi's on a business trip to Chattanooga nearly 10 years ago, and I make it a point to return whenever I'm NEAR C-town, it's that good. Go for the calzone -- if you've never had one, it's the gold standard for size (football-sized), freshness, and topping availability. Beer selection is great, and my daughter loves the Stewart's sodas available, too. Laid-back atmosphere, great food... just go.
- Pros: Fresh food, Good Beer, Different atmosphere
- Cons: Can be crowded, Calzones TOO big?
The staff was so rude.
by kturner2500 at Citysearch
This is the rudest restaurant I've ever been in. I have a small dog and brought it in the Hixson location in order to pick up a carry out order. I understand them not wanting me to bring my dog into the restaurant; however, the manager came out and ordered me to stand outside and wait for my pizza. I offered to to leave my dog in the car, but the manager insisted I leave the restaurant. Whoever this manager was is an evil, angry man.
- Pros: Toppings
- Cons: Staff, Environment, Value, Bread was undercooked
highly overrated
by badmammajamma at Citysearch
I'm sorry, but I just don't get this restaurant's reputation. What you get is very doughy, unimaginatively flavored fare. The garlic is roasted wrong, and they don't know how to put a good sauce together. Their calzones are a joke. Someone here needs to learn how to combine spices properly, because the pizza has a very formless, undone quality. This place is a good example of the proliferation of hip pizza parlors who think that "eclectic" ingredient combinations make up for a lack of soul.
- Pros: they're quick, perhaps too quick
- Cons: pizza just doesn't cut it
Lupis Pizza Pies
by resocar at Citysearch
Probably is the BEST pizza in Chattanooga because it is unique. If you have common taste in pizza, go somewhere else. If you want common atmosphere in which to eat it, go somewhere else. If you have preconceived ideas about your pizza, go to another restaurant. Although Lupis is a great value given the quality and menu selection, some patrons just can't get it, such as those illiterate reviewers who can only type in all caps. The music IS prevalent, but it's also not country on the Pizza Hut's juke box!
- Pros: Quality of food, Beer selection, Atmosphere
- Cons: , crowded at lunch, only 2 locations
Lose the loud music
by bluemooncyc at Citysearch
Lupi's has great pizza, salad and beer. Probably the best in Chattanooga, however the music is too loud to even have a conversation with family or friends. While the food is great and a great selection of beer on tap and bottled, it is hard to enjoy for the music which is deafening for any conversation. plus the choice of music is not compatible for all age groups.
- Pros: great pizza and beer
- Cons: music very annoying
Jake Fulmer is the best part of Lupi's
by helenyane at Citysearch
I was in Chattanooga for a week and went to Lupi's three times! It was that great! The food was fantastic, but the service (Jake Fulmer!) the pizza tossing (Jake Fulmer) and the cash register skills (not Jake Fulmer - but I am sure he would have done a great job too) were all exceptional. I highly recommend this restaurant not only to the residents but tourists too.
If the Grimms opened up a pizzeria. . .
by Schyler77 at Citysearch
Pizza at Lupi's is just plain fun. Whimsical paper mache-looking creatures add character to the restaurant's dark interior. If you didn't know any better, you'd think you were in the midst of a Grimms Fairy Tale. . .except with pizza. While the interior can get a bit cozy during Lupi's busiest hours, the quality tastes and ingredients of the pizza are worth the "crowded elevator experience," as we overheard one couple say. While the price seems to pile up exponentially (or is that logarithmically?)as you add tasty topping upon tasty topping, you and your palate will appreciate your patience.
- Pros: Atmosphere, College Scene
- Cons: Can Get Pricey, Claustrophobic, Not enough seating
